Confirmation is a gift and is offered to those who have been properly prepared and who freely choose to be confirmed.  Parishes have the responsibility to provide adequate opportunities to prepare for celebrating this sacrament.  (Please note our Catholic High Schools do not bear this responsibility and should not be considered the sole method of informing the teens.  The parish provides this catechesis weekly during the school year through Life Teen (grades 9-12) and particularly the formal 11th grade Confirmation classes in conjunction with it.

Faith Formation Requirements:

If student attends a Catholic School:  teens are strongly encouraged to participate regularly in the Life Teen program provided by the Parish in 9th and 10th grade (Sundays after the 5:00 p.m. Mass) and any Retreats given for their particular grade level as well as formal Rites of the Church (Rite of Entrance – 9th Graders; Rite of Transition – 10th Graders; and Rite of Covenant – 11th Graders).  In addition, teens in the 11th Grade must attend the Life Teen program weekly. Several other requirements of the Diocese of Biloxi must be fulfilled in the 11th grade as well a mandatory Retreat and the Ministry Service Experience.

If student is enrolled in a public or private school, attendance for at least two years prior to the sacrament, at weekly Life Teen nights on Sundays after the 5:00 p.m. Mass is required in addition to any Retreats given for their particular grade level as well as formal Rites of the Church (Rite of Entrance – 9th Graders; Rite of Transition – 10th Graders; and Rite of Covenant – 11th Graders). The requirements by the Diocese of Biloxi  must be fulfilled in the 11th grade as well as the Ministry Service Experience.

Parish Enrollment Requirements

Families must be registered members of Holy Family Catholic Church OR must obtain a letter of permission (release) from the pastor of the parish in which you reside.  This letter must be forwarded to the Parish DRE and copied to the Pastor.
